Healing the wounds of the soul
How can we meet our wounds and masks to better transform and heal them?
Flight, dependency, self-sabotage, control or rigidity, do you know?
These were the themes we addressed during a training weekend in 2024 with participants in the long coaching course ‘Explorer’ of BAO-Elan Vital Institute Coaching, Mentoring, Supervision, Transitions, where I was assistant trainer.
Each of these behaviors refers to an original fear or wound (an approach theorized by Lise Bourbeau), sometimes reactivated in our everyday lives: rejection, abandonment, humiliation, betrayal or injustice.
The apprentice-coaches have also learned that, fortunately, there’s a way to heal each of these wounds: first by recognizing and accepting them. Knowing that we all experience them to different degrees.
Then, for each of them individually, move towards: assertiveness, empowerment, self-esteem, letting go, the ability to put things into perspective.
It’s a – beautiful – path of life, for each and every one of us. ⚖
